There are international leaders that inspire the world at large, but some amazing leadership stories also happen in our own lives every day. We are blessed to have some great leaders in the pharmacy profession in Pakistan as well. GBTPP – Giving Back to Pharmacy in Pakistan – is a result of the amazing leadership of several pharmacists of Pakistani decent from around the world. This diverse group of driven individuals came together with a single aim to improve pharmacy profession in Pakistan and established the GBTPP platform. The platform is helping in transforming Pharmacy services in Pakistan. In order to extend its effectiveness, GBTPP is going to Launch a Writers’ Forum, the aim of which is to present pharmacy profession in an overall positive light through “sharing stories” and highlighting opportunities and influencing perception about pharmacists through real life working pharmacist’s stories. Why Storytelling Is So Good For Conveying Information? Storytelling is indeed a powerful tool for conveying information and creating connections with others. Through sharing real-life stories of pharmacists in different healthcare settings, the forum can not only showcase the important role of pharmacists but also provide insights and inspiration to current and aspiring healthcare professionals. Stories have the power to bring together seemingly unrelated concepts and insert new perspectives into long-held beliefs. They are able to draw us in with human experiences and personal connections that make difficult concepts easier to understand and grasp. Stories can be used to show the progression of ideas and concepts to explore. And yet we often overlook examples of stories influencing our decisions and actions. The pharmacy profession carries huge and serious responsibility towards patients and clinicians. Pharmacists’ sharing of stories is an excellent way to learn from the experience of self and others, share, support, and become stronger in facing challenges. Storytelling is everywhere. In marketing, you often see examples of how a narrative can influence buying choices. In education, the use of narrative-based methods is starting to be understood as an important part of learning and retention. And in healthcare, the effectiveness of stories is being proven in reducing stress and providing a sense of comfort for patients. That's why, to help you become a better pharmacist and health care provider, this GBTPP writer’s forum would use not just advice, but storytelling. The bimonthly writer’s forum will publish real-time short stories about pharmacist’s role in different healthcare settings, from retail to hospitals and industry.
